Ryan Gosling ‘Nearly’ steals the show in the first review for the Barbie movie

Fans have been anxiously awaiting the live-action adaptation of Mattel’s Barbie ever since the news broke. After all, the adored character has long been a staple of popular culture. The film is about to be released, and reviews from critics have already been published. Margot Robbie, a Hollywood actress, and Ryan Gosling, who plays Barbie’s friend Ken, were both eagerly awaited for their respective roles as the fashion doll. According to Koimoi, the tale centers on the adventures of a doll who lives in Barbieland. She finally leaves since she isn’t flawless enough. The doll then embarks on a real-world excursion.

It is described as “a fun yet self-aware romp with shades of Clueless and Legally Blonde” by Eliana Dockterman of Time Magazine. Without giving away any surprises, Time also quoted the journalist as saying that it was packed with ideas and that sometimes viewers would feel overwhelmed by it. Helen Mirren’s narration, according to Eliana, informs the audience that “all problems of feminism and equal rights have been solved.” Every night in Barbieland, all the Barbies gather together for sleepovers. They express how attractive and confident they feel during these sleepovers. The Ken dolls exist for a single reason alone. Eliana claims that its purpose is to provide Barbie dolls an easy dancing partner. But after that, things really start to pick up. The character played by Robbie starts to consider death. Famously arched feet become flat.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-43667″ src=”×356.jpg” alt=”” width=”1481″ height=”703″ srcset=”×356.jpg 750w,×486.jpg 1024w,×364.jpg 768w,×729.jpg 1536w,×972.jpg 2048w,×71.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1481px) 100vw, 1481px” />

Eliana said, “When Barbie and Ken embark on journeys of self-discovery, things start to get really interesting.” She continued, saying that “Ryan Gosling almost steals the show,” without going into any explanation about how Ken’s tale will develop. She said, “There’s also a car chase sequence, a mysterious woman in a kitchen, and a running gag about Sylvester Stallone’s penchant for mink coats. It seems to be inspired by Grease and Singin’ in the Rain.” All of this occurs before the film’s philosophical undertone. It’s hardly surprising considering that the whole ensemble praised the project’s director Greta Gerwig and the insightful screenplay as the reasons they agreed to participate.

On July 21, the movie is scheduled to open in theaters. It will be released on the same day as Cillian Murphy’s Oppenheimer, a Christopher Nolan film.
