RIL AGM: Nita Ambani will resign and Isha, Akash, and Anant Ambani to join the Board of Directors

<p>Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, and Anant Ambani were appointed as non-executive directors of the company by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Monday at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM). <p>Nita Ambani’s departure from the board was also accepted by the board of directors, who respected her desire to focus her time and energy on leading the Reliance Foundation and helping it achieve even greater success for India.</p>
<p>The Human Resources, Nomination and Remuneration Committee’s suggestion served as the basis for the decision.</p>
<p>The board applauded Nita Ambani’s suggestion to concentrate even more on advancing Reliance Foundation as it sets out on a goal to further alter society by launching a number of new programs and projects.</p>
<p>Nita Ambani will attend all RIL Board meetings as a permanent invitee to the Board in her capacity as Chair of the Reliance Foundation so that the Company may continue to benefit from her counsel.</p>
<p>Over the last several years, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, and Anant Ambani have been actively managing and leading important RIL companies, including those in retail, digital services, energy, and materials. Additionally, they sit on the boards of RIL’s important subsidiaries. The Board believed that by appointing them to the RIL Board, RIL would be able to benefit from their knowledge and provide fresh perspectives.</p>
<p>With consolidated sales of INR 9,74,864 crore (US$118.6 billion), cash profit of INR 1,25,951 crore (US$ 15.3 billion), and net profit of INR 73,670 crore (US$9.0 billion) for the year ending March 31, 2023, Reliance is India’s biggest private sector firm. Exploration and production of hydrocarbons, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, advanced materials and composites, renewable energy (solar and hydrogen), retail, and digital services are all areas of activity for Reliance.</p>
<p>Reliance, which is now ranked 88th, is the biggest Indian private firm to appear on Fortune’s Global 500 list of “World’s Largest Companies” for 2023. The firm is ranked first among Indian businesses at position 45 in Forbes Global 2000’s list of “World’s Largest Public Companies” for 2023. According to Forbes’ list of the world’s top 20 employers for 2022, Reliance is rated number one among Indian businesses. It is one of the “Top Companies 2023: The 25 Best Workplaces To Grow Your Career In India” according to LinkedIn.</p>
