MPs get iPhone warning notifications: This month, the US Apple team is expected to meet with CERT-In executives

This month, US cyber security experts from Apple are scheduled to meet with CERT-In authorities to discuss the show cause notice that was sent to the business after many opposition MPs received a warning message on their iPhones.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-288866″ src=”×450.jpg” alt=” mps get iphone warning notifications this month the us apple team is expected to m” width=”1392″ height=”835″ title=”MPs get iPhone warning notifications: This month, the US Apple team is expected to meet with CERT-In executives 12″ srcset=”×450.jpg 750w,×614.jpg 1024w,×461.jpg 768w,×90.jpg 150w, 1200w” sizes=”(max-width: 1392px) 100vw, 1392px” />

A number of opposition figures said last month that they got a notification from Apple alerting them to the possibility of government hacking and “state-sponsored attackers attempting to remotely compromise” their iPhones.

In this context, Apple received a show-cause warning from CERT-In, a Meity entity.

According to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology (Meity), Apple must respond to the notification, which must be completed by their international cyber security team.

“They must come here and respond to those inquiries. The fundamental problem persists, the minister said reporters.

He said that while local Apple officials had been contacted by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, or CERT-In, they were unable to address the problem.

“They will travel from the US to meet with CERT-In, and it is their cyber security personnel who need to come,” the minister said.

The minister said he is unsure of the exact dates but expects the team to see Cert-In authorities later this month when questioned about the timeframe Apple was given to submit its answer.

According to a Meity official, the arrival of the Apple cyber security team this month is contingent upon timely acquisition of a visa.

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, party leaders Shashi Tharoor, Pawan Khera, K C Venugopal, Supriya Shrinate, T S Singhdeo, and Bhupinder S Hooda, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav are among the Members of Parliament (MPs) who received the warning notification on their iPhones.

The notice was also sent to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s aides, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, Aam Aadmi Party’s Raghav Chadha, and Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi.
